Update: Still fuck you Sportscar Shop

I received an email from Artin today……..

In the email he states”-Regarding your seat rails, you are not the only one who stacks washers to get seats to fit properly, i have done this numerous times. Including seats in my car, and even some on some cars i have here at the moment. I even offered to show you in person the set of Recaro Profi XL’s that i had on my car at the time.”

MUST I REMIND YOU he admitted to using my seat rails? Also Mugen seat rails do not come with washers, they use a metal spacer, I had to use washers since I bought my seat rails used.  Not once in the email did he apologize for using my shit while it was in his possession…..

http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/1070170-artins-winter-project-updated-42/ For those who are interested…….

One again in the email he sent me, he states “-Regarding the over spray on the headlights, i specifically told my painter to mask them off perfectly or remove the lights. I told him i wanted to see no over spray what so ever. During the time of re assembly, i noticed zero over spray Otherwise, i would have done something about it, whether it’s cleaning it off or buying you new headlights. I was not notified about this at all, until i read your rant on your site.

Mind you these were brand new from HONDA headlights!!!  I didn’t even drive with them before I drove my car to SportsCar Shop. Is this small? Yes, but for me it’s all about the little things……..

Towards the end of the email he states, ” But please, do not make false accusations that are simply not true. Almost all off your argue points are invalid or twisted in some way. ”

False accusations? I have a text with him admitting he did in fact use my seat rails…..

Update: It’s been awhile… Fuck you SportsCar Shop Sterling Virginia

Hi all,

It’s been awhile. Probably over a year at this point….. Plenty of things have happened since I’ve been gone. I’ve gotten married, I moved to California, SoCal specifically, and had shipped my car to California…. I got my S2k back earlier this year…. After about 9 months at the painters.

The first part of this is going to sound like a rant….

I dropped my car off at SportsCar shop in Sterling Virginia to have some paintwork/body work done, such as a dent I had on my passenger side, paint my ASM hood, and my Amuse R1 front bumper. I requested to Artin, an employee at Sportscarshop to please take off the headlights when the car is painted, since they are brand new AP2 Headlights from Honda $$$, I also requested to fix the passenger side fender where it meets the bumper so the Amuse front bumper sits flush, he agreed to fix everything. At the time I was living in Boston and my car was in Virginia so I couldn’t exactly go to their shop and bother them everyday. I first noticed something was wrong when it took them about 2-3 weeks for an estimate….. My car just sat for while Artin promised me that their painter would start working on it etc…. Time went by and there was barely progress on my car…. Artin blamed the painter was lazy and only worked when he wanted to. During the time my car was at his shop, Artin messaged me and asked if he could borrow my hardtop and asked me what kind of seat rails I was running on my car, he had a track day and needed a top of some sort, I thought this was odd request from him…..

Fast forward to a few months later, I finally got word the painter was going to start on the car. It wasn’t until a few months after that notice my car was actually done.

Upon receipt of the car, I noticed the painted spots on the car were rougher than the unpainted parts, the very sides of my head light had some over spray on it, and my fender on the passenger side was still not flush with my bumper! I wasn’t too happy but I took the car anyways, it was at his shop for 9 months! I drove the car home and checked it out further, I noticed the passenger door latch wasn’t opening, they didn’t reattach the rod in the door… I let Artin know and I was responded with some attitude saying it was no big deal and blamed his painter, I reattached it myself.

Later on I was looking through Artin’s photobucket account since something seemed a bit fishy. When I dropped of my car, my recaros still had the brand new plastic cover on them, when I received my car they were taken off….remember that track day he was talking about, he used my Mugen Seat rails. Yep, I left my car at his shop and he felt free to use my parts. I asked him if he used my Recaros too, he denied that he did….. I know these are my seat rails because I stacked a bunch of washers on my rail to get them to fit properly…….

What my car looked like out of the shop

My takeaway from this is, don’t take your car to SportsCar Shop, especially if you have an S2000. I feel like I’ve been taken advantage of, it is extremely unprofessional to help yourself to your customers parts and use them without asking.

How my car sits today! We took this picture in Malibu late at night. I finally got all the hardtop pieces I needed……

Possibly some new content coming in the future.  We have a GoPro4 that is collecting dust.

Update: Subaru STi: Snow Mode + more

Sorry folks, haven’t been working much on the S2k as of late, as it’s back in VA and I was unemployed for a bit. It’s been a snowy winter in the Northeast and we are expecting more snow tomorrow. I picked up this set of ASA rims + Bridgestone Blizzak Tires for $500 off of eBay. Not a bad deal, hopefully I can own some snow now.

Also if you notice in the picture, my hood is silver now. My hood latch failed on the highway and caused this:

This is what happens when Hood meets Windshield, thankfully the ABS plastic Hood scoop saved my windshield, but sacrificed my scoop.
I picked up a Silver WRX hood from a member off of NASIOC locally.

I did a sweet switchblade key mod for the STi. It was pretty simple, you can check out the how to here

One last thing, I bought a key immobilizer from China, I was able to make key copies for my 99 Honda Accord and Subaru so far, I wonder if this will work on my S2k. I’ll post a part review in the future.

Update: Current Status….. Work in Progress

I live in Boston now, but my car is still in VA. I took this picture of my car last year. It has brand new OEM AP2 Headlights, Authentic Amuse Front Bumper, ASM FRP Bonnet, and OEM hardtop. My dad helped me and had someone paint my hardtop black. I’m hoping to get my bumper and bonnet the same color as my car……eventually……..This build is slowwwwwwww.

Just a test mount of everything…..

Should somewhat look like this when I’m done…..

Update: Car update

I think every car enthusiast goes through this point, the point where your project is in a standstill due to multiple reasons, financial reasons, time restrictions, or the loss of drive. Sometimes I just wish I left my car alone….. But then again, every mistake I make with this car I learn more about my car. Another weekend of tearing my car apart trying to figure out what’s wrong…..

I wish I had the funds to start fresh, new engine, fresh coat of paint, and just driver mods…..oh well #firstworldproblems haha.

Update: Current State of the S2k

The s2k is back in my garage for this winter, while I get my finances straight, save up for a wedding ring, and actually get my car to a place where I can really enjoy it!  I sold off all the cool stuff my s2k had, J’s racing header, Jenvey ITBs, and my Bride Gias seat. I want to go back to the basics and work my way from there, maybe start tracking my car so I can actually enjoy it. I’ll sell my kpro soon…….. I want to just go back to a stock motor, hardtop, and possibly a new hood since my dumb ass cut up my old one…..yeah I regret it.

Don’t worry, I’ll keep using high quality parts for my car.
