2021 Recap Part 2

Last post was all over the place, crazy right? 2021 went by like a blur, so many things happened. A lot of WPC as you can see…. Now let’s continue from where I left off

IMG_7038
At Formula S… Jason’s R33 Nissan Skyline GTR. This dude goes through cars like people wear socks. He’s probably like 5 cars further along since then.

IMG_7177
TVR I saw a at meet, this guy is always on the west side of LA.

Mint Mercedes 190E 2.3-16v Cosworth, I believe this is owned by the owner of PERIOD CORRECT

IMG_7188
Real RHD conundrum, parking garages in a RHD car….. trick is to us an extended grabber stick….

IMG_7217
At the time my friend actually brought in 2 DC2 Type R at the same time! crazy.

IMG_7280
I moved the S2k to the center garage spot to really get some work done on it, shoutout to Alvin for helping me out.  At the time I was seeing if I can run these crazy 18×11 wheels Advan GT Premiums.

IMG_7293
Weapon of choice, harbor freight lift cart.

IMG_7294
I bought this CSOHARA DIRECT STEERING COLLAR from Formula S. It converts that hard rubber piece to a solid bush.  Installation was a breeze.

Tranny is mounted on engine

IMG_7366
All ready to go with my EG in the background…. the car has seen crazy development since then.

Testing out Oil tank to Toda Dry Sump pump lines.

IMG_7617

IMG_7618
The Urge Oil tank setup is okay at best. The sizing is awkward, -16AN on the tank and the tank does not come apart to service…. It’s cool that it’s bolt on, but the guys at Urge didn’t seem to do any real R&D on this stuff. When I asked them questions or showed my findings while running this tank, they didn’t seem too knowledgeable about real world use. When I asked what other users did with this tank, they all said they are in the “building” process, and I was the only actual user of this right now….. Great. They gave me a slight discount on the unit, but I don’t enjoy being a beta tester, especially with such a high dollar engine setup as mine. I wish companies would flush out their stuff before selling them, it’s what makes a different between GREAT company and a mediocre one.  Running stuff to market is useless if you have no real world data on it.

IMG_7754
Remember that black E30M3. The same guy bought this white one…..He let me borrow it for a weekend. This example only had around 50k miles on it or so. It was absolutely mint.

IMG_8046
I picked up some Ikeya Formula Control Arms front and rear from Formula S

IMG_8048

IMG_8050
I also picked up Dry ASM Carbon Over Fenders for the S.  I didn’t end up running these and sold them.

IMG_5271
I installed the Toda Racing heavy duty starter gear since my car is high comp and requires a bit more of a punch. The OEM part is made out of plastic. This is made out of metal and I took it one step further and WPC treated it!

IMG_5272
I even WPC treated the planetary gears…. not shown here.

And that’s a wrap for 2021! 2022 is next. Hope you enjoyed this.
